THE COMPETITION EXPLAINED.......

Combine the three and enter the #GPLTSpeedwayComp24 (Speedway knowledge is not essential - 2024 will be the Competitions 19th year).
GP RIDERS FLYING LAP or FIM DRAW……
The qualifying practice session before each GP will include the fastest lap. The fastest lap winner has first choice on starting positions, the 16th has the last pick. If the fastest flying lap fails to take place the FIM will conduct a draw before the GP to determine the riders 1-16 Programme Draw Numbers (PDNs).
BUILD YOUR TEAM(S)……
Select a team name and 5 numbers (1-16 Inc.). The first 4 numbers you have chosen will be your team; the 5th will be a Non-Scoring Number (5th NSN) and will only come into play if there is a draw in the league, the 5 numbers chosen will relate to the riders Programme Draw Number (PDN).
COMPETITION SCORING……
The Grand Prix scoring system is as follows - "Riders will be awarded championship points according to their finishing position and not the points they score in each heat. The winner of each GP (1st) gets 20pts - 2nd:18pts - 3rd:16pts - 4th:14pts - 5th:12pts - down to 16th:1pt ".
The GRAND PRIX Lottery Team Speedway Competition will continue with the old fashion way of scoring, all 23 heats will have riders scoring 3pts, 2pts, 1pt, 0pts - add them all up and there's your riders totals, simple. So, as far as this competition is concerned THERE WILL BE NO 1st:20pts - 2nd:18pts - 3rd:16pts etc. etc. After each GP the points scored by your 4 PDN riders will be added together and will be your teams’ score.
EXAMPLE - PDN Score card - GP Rd11 2021 - if you had selected PDN 2, 5, 11, and 15 your team score for GP11 is 16+9+11+3=39pts.
The 4 PDNs will be your team for all GPs during the season.
LEAGUE KNOCKOUT COMP (LKC)……
At no extra cost the LKC will begin from GP2. Your team will include all your 5 PDN numbers – there WILL NOT be a NSN as per the league.
PRIZES……
Last season (2023) we had 124 teams entered (total prize money £620) and the winner received £300. When all entries have been received, I will work out the prizes for the top 5 or 6, something for the strongest team, and the LKC winner.
THE PROMOTER, ME......
I take no payment for running this competition, it's a hobby. Every penny I collect is returned as a prize and during the last 18 years I have collected £7,955.00 and paid out prize money of £7,955.00 - Look in the MENU for COMPETITION HISTORY for full details. Before each GP I'll produce a blank PDN Heat Sheet and GP Race Card, both can be used as a programme on the day of the GP, just print - both are FREE. After each GP I will produce a completed PDN Heat Sheet, Race Card, League, LKO Update and post them on this web site. Look in the MENU for 2024 DOCUMENTS for last years documents. The LEAGUE will ALWAYS include all TEAM MANAGERS, their TEAM NAMES, and their selected PDN numbers.
THE SMALL PRINT……
The cost for each team entered is £5 and all teams can be entered through this web site beginning on Wednesday 06th March 2024 at 12:00. All teams must be entered, and all payments received by 23:00 on 25th April 2024. Payment options are Cash (if local to the Poole area), Cheque, Bank Transfer, or PAYPAL.
